We have recently been sent some fantastic shots of our panniers in use, by Kings Lynn Cycle Response Unit. Their team were out at the RIAT (Royal International Air Tattoo), providing on scene first aid to anyone who may have needed it.

The Royal International Air Tattoo is the world’s largest military air show which is held annually over the third week of July. Typically, the show attracts 150,000 to 160,000 spectators over the weekend.
The fact our panniers were in use at such a high profile event is an excellent acknowledgement of the quality and durability of our products. Our panniers have been used by various services and cycle response units; they can attend scenes then release an ambulance back into the system to attend a more serious call.

The Kings Lynn Cycle Response Unit was set up in January 2008 having had a successful trial the previous summer. This was a beneficial service as many city centres were becoming more closed off to traffic. Initially it was comprised of four staff and has now been increased to six, all of whom are fully qualified paramedics or Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s). They currently operate six days a week; Monday to Saturday, working ten hour shifts and cover multiple special events.[vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”26963,26965″ img_size=”full”] In our cycle panniers, the team carry equipment such as a heart monitor and defibrillator, oxygen and resuscitation equipment, dressings and special burns dressings. Amongst that, there is also diagnostic equipment such as a stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, blood sugar monitor, pulse oximeter, and thermometer. Drugs are carried for the treatment of cardiac arrest, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, anaphylaxis/allergic reactions and pain relief.

“The panniers and bags on the bike are made by Openhouse products who specialise in making medical bags, these have proved to be very good for CRU use.”

We supply a range of panniers, both made to order and off the shelf, made from our exclusive micrAgard™ PLUS fabric to ensure everything inside is dry and safe from adverse weather conditions and cross-contamination. They also have 360 degree reflective printing so that they can be seen from all angles in any situation. We offer full customisation with our made to order panniers, meaning they can be tailored to your service with any wording or custom logo and still fulfil the wipe-clean, anti-bacterial finish required to be used in an emergency medical situation.
