The Tite Operational Pelvic Splint (TOPS) has been designed to reduce and stabilise pelvic fractures and is able to be slid under the patient easily due to its stiffened construction making it perfect for pre-hospital use.
Stabilisation prior to moving a patient with a pelvic fracture is essential to reduce the chances of exacerbation of injury and increase the chances of survival.

Manufactured in micrAgard, the splint is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and water resistant to reduce the risk of infection.

As the TOPS splint is X-Ray compatible there is no need to remove the splint for an X-Ray, vastly reducing the risk of exacerbating the patient’s injury.

With double loops for fitting, the same splint can be used for most patients. The foldable design means the TOPS splint also fits in trauma bags for easy transportation.

Features

  • Anti-bacterial
  • Anti-fungal
  • Water resistant
  • Stiffened construction
  • Foldable design
  • X-Ray / Scanner compatible
  • Double loops for fitting
  • Suitable for children and bariatric patients
  • Reusable and cost effective

The TOPS is designed for –

Firefighters, Ambulance crews, military, remote medical providers, Search and rescue teams (mountain rescue, International S&R, Urban S&R, etc) and trauma doctors/responders at extreme sports events.

It reduces and stabilises pelvic fractures.

Information and guidelines for pelvic trauma can be found at;

Stabilisation prior to moving a patient with a pelvic fracture is essential for increased chances of survival.

Young children and obese patients.

TOPS measures between 60cm/23inch and 158cm/62inches (this may change after adjustments) so will fit the majority of the population. Any patient with a waist smaller than 60cm will most likely be able to be extricated in their child car seat. If they are not in a car seat an adult leg splint may be more practical. For patients over 158cm the required pressure may be hard to achieve using a conventional splint. Blankets/bed sheets may help in this situation.
