Sewing Machinist

Starting Pay for a Trainee machinst – £10.55 per hour

Starting pay for an experienced machinist – £11.00 rising to £11.45 per hour once passed probationary period,

Plus Monthly target bonus scheme.

Hours of Work – Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 4:30pm and Friday 8:00am to 2:00pm.
Holidays – 24 days holiday plus bank holidays

Working with instructions from Supervisors you will read drawings and material requisitions to sew and make up a variety of items including bags, pouches, covers and backpacks items using one or all of the following industrial sewing machines – Walking foot Flatbed, Elastic Binding, Cylinder Arms, Taper, Automatic pattern sewing Machine and Taper guides.
You’ll help prevent and rectify faults, and ensure health and safety is paramount at all times. A full job description will be shared on request.

Skills & Experienced Desired
– To be able to use all the sewing machines listed

– To have had previous experience in an industrial sewing environment

– Skill to thread and carry out basic maintenance on all machines used

-Ability to closly follow verbal instructions

-A high attention to detail and quality
