Here at Openhouse we thought we would do our own take on the 10 Year Challenge and show you a pouch from ten years ago in comparison to the current edition of our pouches. As you can see, a lot has changed over the years!
One key difference is our piping along the sides – on the 2009 edition our pouch has woven piping whilst the most recent one has PVC grey webbing. This webbing provides a lot more durability and can take more of a beating when dropped.

10 years ago, our zips were not lockable. Now we have zip sliders on our bags and pouches that are compatible with our tamper proof locks which add an additional layer of security when it comes to protecting the equipment inside. Our zips are now supplied by the brand YKK, who are known as the leading manufacturer of zip sliders.
Our pouches have been secured into our bag via hook and loop fastening for years. On the previous version we used standard hook and loop which was black and untreated. Now it’s treated ensuring that it is anti-microbial and working even further to prevent the spread of infection. It is now grey in colour which fits it in more with the grey zips and piping. The lining of our bags is also now treated, so that too is anti-microbial and is grey in colour as opposed to red.

The lids are still clear PVC, however the most update pouches’ lid is only half-transparent. This has allowed us to incorporate heat transfer reflective printing. This means we can label pouches clearly and this helps the customer identify what equipment is in which pouch during an emergency.[vc_column][vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”24168,24169,24170,24171,24172,24173,24174,24175,24176″ img_size=”full”]We now construct our bags and pouches in micrAgard™ PLUS which is a material exclusive to us. This material is wipe clean, and also anti-microbial. It is water resistant too, preventing the equipment from getting wet.

Our pouches and bags have changed over the years but one thing that hasn’t is our dedication to continuously pushing innovation and improvement, as well as the quality and workmanship of our bags. Many of our bags from ten years ago and over are still in service and are still delivering great quality to this day. Our bags and pouches are designed and made to be as versatile and as durable as possible.
