The Polar Circle Marathon is referred to as “the Coolest Marathon on Earth”  which takes place  in one of the remote corners of the world, Kangerlussuaq Greenland. With vast amounts of beautiful Antarctic desert runners are faced with one of the toughest terrains, making this an extremely challenging running event in which many are keen to take part in.

Openhouse were pleased to support Paul Jeffery in his Polar Circle Marathon in aid of SSAFA (The Armed Forces Charity), being our latest competition winner Paul won our Small Infection Control Backpack and we are pleased it was certainly put to good use. Paul said that within October he set himself multiple challenges to complete, the Polar Circle Challenge being one of many. All the money raised through the events is going to Paul’s chosen charity SSAFA, the armed forces charity helping former service personnel and their families as well as serving members. You can follow Paul’s challenges through his Facebook page and also donate to his Justgiving Page here.

Paul expressed how thrilled he was winning our competition, allowing him to take the bag with him to the Arctic Circle. He stated how he intended to use it as a medical response bag, however,  due to the bags size he was also able to use it for personal kit! With the bags design from MicrAgard™   material, this meant it was waterproof, allowing internal equipment to be kept safe and dry within various conditions. This provided Paul with a good level of thermal protection to the interior items within the bag despite the sub- zero temperatures. Paul expressed how he would highly recommend the OH Small Infection Control Bagas a personal bag or for the use of various kit, serving him well in he extreme conditions he faced when completing his marathons. The Small Backpack is equipped with large flat padded pocket making it suitable when carrying portable devices.  The large section of the bag opens fully out allowing items and kit to be accessed quickly when needed with multiple net pockets keeping everything organised. The main section of the bag is capable of holding two large pouches or four small pouches in any combination.
