Description

The Openhouse First Aid Kit is a guided first aid system designed to make emergency equipment faster, clearer and easier to use when every second matters.

Unlike traditional first aid kits where equipment is stored together in one compartment, the OH FAK separates equipment into four colour-coded emergency pouches, allowing the user to quickly identify the correct equipment for the situation in front of them.

A clear decision guide inside the main bag helps the user assess the situation and directs them to the appropriate pouch:

Red – BLEED

For severe bleeding and major trauma.

Contains:

  • Tourniquet
  • Trauma dressing
  • Haemostatic dressing

Yellow – HEART

For an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally or where cardiac arrest is suspected.

Contains:

  • CPR face shield
  • Razor
  • Reliwipe (10)
  • Pocket AED when selected with the defibrillator option

Blue – BURNS

For burns and scalds.

Contains:

  • Burn dressing (3)
  • Water

Green – GENERAL

For minor injuries and general first aid.

Contains:

  • Assorted plasters (100)
  • Sterile dressing
  • Triangular bandage
  • Safety pins (6)
  • Instant ice pack
  • Saline pods (3)

The kit also includes protective gloves (2) and trauma shears, positioned separately for quick access.

Clear guidance when it matters most

Each pouch features its own step-by-step written instructions, helping users understand what equipment to use and what action to take.

Additional QR-linked video guidance is also available inside the pouches, providing further support when required. The main bag includes a simple visual decision guide to help the user quickly determine whether they should access the:

  • BLEED pouch
  • HEART pouch
  • BURNS pouch
  • GENERAL pouch

The result is a first aid system designed not simply to store medical equipment, but to help someone find it, understand it and use it under pressure.

Available with or without a defibrillator

OH FAK without defibrillator

Includes the complete guided first aid system and equipment, without an AED.

OH FAK with Pocket AED

FAQs

What are the four pouches?

The kit contains four dedicated emergency pouches: BLEED for severe bleeding and major trauma, HEART for suspected cardiac arrest, BURNS for burns and scalds, and GENERAL for minor injuries and everyday first aid.

What equipment is included?

The complete kit includes equipment for bleeding control, cardiac emergencies, burns and general injuries. This includes items such as a tourniquet, haemostatic dressing, trauma dressing, CPR face mask, razor, Reliwipe, burn dressing, water, plasters, sterile dressing, triangular bandage, safety pins, instant ice pack and saline pods. Protective gloves and trauma shears are also positioned separately for quick access.

Can I purchase the OH FAK with a defibrillator?

Yes. The OH FAK is available with or without a Pocket AED. Selecting the defibrillator option provides a more comprehensive emergency response system, with the AED incorporated into the HEART section of the kit.

Do I need a defibrillator with the kit?

No. The OH FAK can be purchased without an AED. If an AED is not included, we recommend ensuring staff know the location of the nearest available defibrillator.

Do I need first aid training to use the OH FAK?

The system has been designed to make first aid equipment easier to navigate for both trained and untrained users.

What are the QR codes for?

Each emergency pouch contains access to additional QR-linked video guidance, helping users understand how the equipment within that pouch is used. The video guidance is designed as additional support and should not delay calling 999 or providing immediate first aid.

Does the kit adhere to guidance?

The kit and it’s instructions have been approved to adhere to regulations and standards.

Where is the OH FAK suitable for use?

The system has been designed for a wide range of workplaces and public environments, including schools, offices, warehouses, factories, gyms, leisure centres, hospitality venues, retail premises, transport environments and other workplaces where first aid provision is required.

Can businesses purchase more than one kit?

Yes. The OH FAK can be supplied to individual locations or across multiple sites. Businesses looking to equip several workplaces can contact Openhouse to discuss their requirements.

Can used or expired equipment be replaced?

Yes. Consumable and time-sensitive equipment can be replaced without needing to purchase an entirely new bag. Openhouse can also support customers with monitoring equipment and expiry dates so that kits remain properly stocked and ready for use.

What happens after equipment is used?

Any used consumable items should be replaced as soon as possible so the kit remains ready for the next emergency. Openhouse can supply replacement equipment for the system.

Can I alter the kit to fit my business needs?

If you require a bespoke bag design or equipment list specifically for your business, please get in touch with Openhouse to discuss creating a bespoke version of this bag that will better fit the needs of your business.
