Vanguard Patient Overnight Bag
The Openhouse “Red Bag” is the original design as described in the integrated pathway from NICE guideline NG27: Transition between inpatient hospital setting and community or care homes.
A Red bag is used to transfer standardised paperwork, medication and personal belongings, staying with the patient throughout their admission and returning back home with them. The standardised paperwork will ensure that everyone involved in the care for the resident will have the necessary information about the resident’s general health, e.g. baseline information, current concern, social information and any medications, on discharge the care home will receive a discharge summary with the medications in the red bag. The pathway enables a significant reduction in the amount of time taken for ambulance transfer times and for A&E assessment times and reduces avoidable hospital admissions.

What does “made to order” mean?
Each product is manufactured specifically for you, allowing it to be customised to suit your organisation, equipment and operational requirements.
What can I customise?
Depending on the product, you may be able to customise the colours, Dimensions, internal layout, pockets, handles, straps, labelling and branding.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Our standard minimum order quantity for UK-manufactured bespoke products is five units. Orders below five units may be possible but will be subject to a 15% surcharge.
Can you add our logo or branding?
Yes. We can incorporate printed or embroidered logos, wording and identification labels. Please provide suitable high-resolution artwork or a vector file where possible.
Can you match our organisation’s colours?
We offer a wide selection of materials and colours. Our team will discuss the available options with you, although exact colour matching may depend on material availability.
Will I receive a sample before placing my full order?
Where appropriate, we can produce a sample for approval before full production. Sample charges and lead times will be confirmed during the quotation process.
How long will my order take?
Lead times depend on the product, quantity, materials and level of customisation required. We will provide an estimated lead time with your quotation. Standard lead time is usually between 10 and 12 weeks.
What information do you need to provide a quotation?
Please send us your required quantity, approximate Dimensions, preferred colours and materials, branding requirements, intended use and any photographs, sketches or equipment lists you have available.
